EIFER seeks a Research Fellow (m/f/d) on Alternative Fuels Technologies.

This 2-year position in Karlsruhe starts ASAP. Salary per TV-L (100%).

Founded by EDF and KIT in 2002, EIFER provides innovative energy solutions for a sustainable future.

You will be part of the research group "Local Multi-Energy Systems" with about 25 researchers, where alternative fuels are an important part of our activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting strategic and prospective analyses of trajectories, pathways, and roadmaps for various alternative fuel (bio/synthetic) applications and stakeholders.
  • Technical and economic evaluation of alternative fuel production technologies.
  • Engage directly with EIFER’s clients to understand their needs, define work plans, and report progress and results across strategic, engineering, business development, and operational entities.
  • Participation in EU projects with key research and industrial partners.
  • Additionally, you will contribute to the development of EIFER’s research agenda by:
    • Responding to public funded project calls.
    • Maintaining and expanding EIFER’s academic partnerships through proactive engagement and networking.
    • Publishing results in scientific journals and conferences.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, process engineering, or general engineering; PhD is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience in alternative fuels, biomass and/or hydrogen.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French and German is an advantage.
