EIFER seeks a Research Fellow (m/f/d) for Hydrogen Engineering & Innovation.

The position is based in Karlsruhe with a duration of initially 2 years starting from 01 June 2025.
Salary per TV-L (100%).

Responsibilities

  • Innovative Laboratory Work: Engage in cutting-edge experimental work at both cell and stack levels, focusing on electrochemical performance and degradation evaluation.
  • Advanced Analysis: Utilize a variety of characterization methods, including in situ impedance spectroscopy, microscopy observations, X-ray diffraction, and other innovative techniques to analyze cell/stack degradation.
  • Material Synthesis: Synthesize material components and manufacture electrochemical cells using advanced wet chemical routes.
  • Project Development: Lead and manage project proposals for industrial stakeholders and public funded calls, driving innovation and collaboration.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Present your findings and activities through impactful publications and conference contributions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Material Science, Energy, or Electrochemistry.
  • Experience with hydrogen systems, especially solid oxide cells.
  • Proficiency in material characterization techniques. 
  • Skills in developing and implementing testing equipment. 
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.
