EIFER seeks a student for an internship position (m/f/d) with the title
"Natural Carbon Sequestration Research".

This position is located in Karlsruhe, is available to start as soon as possible and will last for max. 6 months (compulsory internship).

Weekly working hours will be 39.5 hours.
Remuneration: 610€ monthly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and analyses of natural and technological carbon sequestration solutions (e.g. agricultural sector, ocean alkalinity).
  • Assess the scientific maturity, mitigation potential, and current implementation of these carbon sequestration practices.
  • Compile information on standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard), stakeholders, project types, costs, and associated risks.
  • Assess ecosystem trajectories under restoration actions and review associated carbon stock dynamics.
  • Synthesize projects or case studies information into various formats, such as factsheets and databases.
  • Any additional tasks assigned related to carbon sequestration/stocks, restoration or environmental issues.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a University student
    Preferred study subjects: Environmental Science, Ecology, Climate Science, Sustainable Development, Energy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in energy research and sustainability.
  • Interest in sustainability research and ecosystem-based climate solutions
  • Ability to summarize complex scientific information in concise, clear formats
  • French language and carbon accounting are a plus
